The Hamilton Police Service Homicide Unit continued to investigate the City of Hamilton’s 2nd homicide for 2012.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, 2012, police continued to interview several witnesses, canvass the area and collect video from neighbouring businesses. The media also played an important role in bringing forward witnesses in this violent crime.
As a result of this intense investigation, a suspect for this shooting has been identified and an arrest warrant has been issued for Shaquille Collins, 19 yrs. of no fixed address with charges of Second Degree Murder and Attempt Murder.
Collins is described as: male, black, 5’11”, 152 lbs., with a medium build.
Collins is considered to be armed and dangerous. Police are requesting members of the public to call 9-1-1 if Collins is located and not to approach him..
Police continue to investigate this matter and believe that other people may have participated in this crime.
The Homicide Unit is continuing the investigation.
