It is alleged that:

– on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a 19-year-old woman attended what she was told was an information session at Emmanuel College, on the University of Toronto campus, on Queen's Park Crescent

– when she arrived at the assigned room, there was no one there

– a short time later, the accused, known to the woman as a student on campus, exited a washroom wearing a dust/surgical-type facemask and offered to assist her in confirming the location of the information session

– the accused then returned to the washroom and asked the woman to assist him with some repairs

– the woman entered the washroom with the accused and he locked the door behind him

– the accused then grabbed the woman and forced her to the ground

– she fought back and was able to escape and notified campus police

It is further alleged that:

– the information session was a ruse to have the woman attend the location where the offence took place
