Patrick Wayne LeBlanc, a 27-year-old Moncton man appeared in Moncton Provincial Court this afternoon to face a charge of arson in connection with a series of arsons which occurred in the Parkton area in Moncton earlier this week.
On Monday April 12, 2010 at approximately 4:45 am, police were called to a home on Churchill Street where two vehicles and the exterior of a home were damaged by a fire. While the RCMP and the Moncton Fire Department were investigating the cause of the blaze, they discovered that there had also been other vehicles burned on Churchill Street and one on Oakland Avenue earlier that day.
LeBlanc was arrested on Tuesday afternoon by the Codiac Regional RCMP General Investigation Section. He is scheduled to return to court on April 16 at 1:30 pm for a bail hearing. Further charges are expected to be laid in relation to this matter.
