Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to help find a missing Vancouver woman who may be in the B.C. interior.

Twenty-four year old Marie Shara Kematch, who also goes by Marie Shara Barnes, was last seen at her house in the 1100 block E .12th Avenue in the early afternoon of Sunday, August 12th, and she hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Ms. Kematch may be emotionally distressed and there is concern that she may try to harm herself.

Marie is Aboriginal, 5′ 6″ tall, 170 lbs., with a heavy build, short dark brown hair and brown eyes. She may be wearing either a red or blue shirt with baggy black shorts and flip-flop sandals.

She appears to be travelling and is likely driving a grey 2007 Honda Civic 4-door sedan bearing B.C. license plate 002-ENS. Police were called late this afternoon by concerned family members and the investigation thus far has revealed that Marie may be travelling on or in the area of the Coquihalla Highway, as there is reason to believe that she may have stopped for gas in Merritt just before 6 p.m. yesterday. It is unknown where Marie may have travelled from Merritt.
