Port Hardy man Dakota Johnny facing charges in a murder investigation

Charges have now been laid against Dakota Dillon Johnny, a 19 year old Port Hardy man, in relation to the murder of 28 year old Cindy Scow.

Dakota Johnny faces a charge of:

– Murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code of Canada.

Johnny has been remanded into custody.  His next appearance before a Justice is set for September 14th, 2012. 

This investigation is ongoing, involving officers from the Port Hardy RCMP, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU), RCMP West Coast Marine Services, and the BC Coroner Service.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further details will be released at this time.
