Police issue caution following the tragic death of a 23-year-old man who fell from a CP Rail overpass.

On Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 3:11 a.m., two males were walking along the wooden rail slats on the CP Rail tracks near Gunn Street at Oxford Street. One of the males fell between the slats on the overpass and died as a result of his injuries. London Police are assisting the Coroner’s Office in this investigation.

Both males were out for an evening of socializing when this tragedy occurred. This death is very tragic but also could have been avoided. Police are not treating this death as suspicious. There was no train involved in this investigation.

Police would like to remind the public that walking on, or along, railway tracks can be very dangerous, and it is also an offence under the Trespass to Property Act.

Caution must be exercised around any railway crossings or overpasses. Remember to use caution, look and listen for trains.
