Ontario resident David James Leblanc arrested for forcible confinement & sexual assault

Police in Ontario have arrested one of the males wanted in connection with a recent Forcible Confinement / Sexual Assault investigation in Nova Scotia.

Last night at approximately 7:15 p.m. EDT, officers with Ontario Provincial Police near Longlac, Ontario, located and arrested 47-year-old David James Leblanc. Longlac is approximately 320 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay. They were responding to a call of a male in distress on Lukinto Lake Road near Longlac. Leblanc is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in Thunder Bay Provincial court via video link.

Members of Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit are working with Ontario Provincial Police to arrange for transportation of Leblanc back to Nova Scotia to face charges of Forcible Confinement and Sexual Assault in relation to an incident in Upper Chelsea, Nova Scotia. Additional charges against Leblanc are expected.

Police are still looking for 31-year-old Wayne Alan Cunningham. Members of the public are advised to contact police if they see him and not approach Cunningham directly.
