York police located a deceased pedestrian man’s body after fatal road collision at the Town of Richmond Hill

Officers with the Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal fail-to-remain pedestrian collision in the Town of Richmond Hill.

On Thursday, November 1, 2012, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police were called to Yonge Street south of King Road after the body of a deceased male was found on the roadway. The Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and determined that a Mercedes SUV was involved in the incident.

Investigators are asking the driver of the vehicle and witnesses to come forward.

Yonge Street between King Road and Stouffville Road remains closed. Motorists are asked to avoid this area and seek alternate routes. The road will remain closed for an undetermined length of time.
