Ottawa man Marc Leduc charged with several counts related to sexual assault

The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Section are continuing their investigation and have arrested a 55-year-old Ottawa man in relation to a sexual assault that occurred on November 1st in the 2100 block of Elmira Dr. 

At approximately 1000 am on November 1st, police officers responded to a sexual assault call in the 2100 block of Elmira Dr. Officers met with the victim who indicated that a male suspect had entered her apartment and sexually assaulted her. Soon after police officers arrived on scene, they were able to quickly locate and arrest the suspect who had suffered serious injuries. The investigation determined that the suspect entered the victim’s residence carrying a knife and sexually assaulted her. The victim suffered minor injuries while defending and freeing herself from her attacker. Both the victim and suspect reside in the same building but are not known to each other. 

Marc Leduc, 55 years old, has been charged with sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, overcome resistance to offence/attempt to choke, break and enter, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon, assault and breach of probation. He will appear in court on November 3rd for a Bail Hearing. 
The investigation is ongoing.
