On Monday, May 31, 2010, at approximately 4:35 p.m., police responded to a call for a suspicious death.

It is reported that:

– police located a woman with trauma to the body,

– she was pronounced at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Lucita Charles, 28, of Toronto.

Patrick Kirk Barrett, 39, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1) Second Degree Murder.

He is described as black, 6’1", with a medium build.

Investigators believe that Patrick Kirk Barrett, 39, is either in, or on his way to, the Montreal area. It is thought that he may be driving a burnt orange, 2009, Kia Rio with Ontario licence plate BERR 171.

Anyone locating this vehicle is asked to call police in the area in which it is found. Do not approach the vehicle or the suspect.

UPDATE: On Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., Durham Regional Police Service officers arrested Patrick Kirk Barrett, 39, in the Durham area, without incident.

Patrick Kirk Barrett, 39, of Toronto, is charged with Second Degree Murder.

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, June 3, 2010, 10 a.m., room 206.
