Toronto man Quintin Robles & woman Rowena Villanueva face 34 counts on fraud investigation

On Tuesday, December 18, 2012, police arrested a man and woman in connection with a fraud investigation.

It is alleged that:

– between 2007 and 2011, the suspects befriended the victims, often preying upon their vulnerabilities and exploiting their trust within the Filipino community

– the suspects convinced their victims that they were the owners of a successful business and were seeking investors to expand and open new locations

– in each case, the victims forwarded their life’s savings to the suspects

– the total loss is approximately $500,000

– the suspects then used the money for personal use

Rowena Villanueva, 47, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) 16 counts of Fraud Over
2) Theft of Credit Card
3) Use Credit Card Obtained by Crime

Quintin Robles, 57, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) 16 counts of Fraud Over

They were scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, room 507, at 2 p.m.

Police believe there may be more victims.
