Nik Nanos, of Nanos Research, collaborated with Evan Solomon, host of CBC News Networks Power & Politics, for exploring the political, economic and social forces that are shaping our lives. Nanos Research has completed a tracking poll, which asked various samples of Canadians about their mood about the direction they think the country is going in. Nik Nanos claims that the results are alarming for the government.
Canadians were inquired through the poll, asking “would you say that Canada as a country is moving in the right direction or the wrong direction?” Results show that a majority of forty-eight per cent Canadian asserted that their country is heading in the right direction, while twenty-seven per cent alleged that the country is not moving in the right direction. Though the astonishing factor was 25 per cent of the respondents claiming they are unsure whether the country is moving in the right direction or not.
Nanos claims that this years’ result is a significant shift from the results of 2011, when a clear majority of 64 per cent Canadians were convinced that the country is moving in the right direction and 28 per cent thought the country is moving in the wrong direction. Whereas only a minute 9 per cent alleged to be unsure at the time. Nick Nanos commented that “looking at the trend you have to be concerned about people moving out of that column and into unsure because it means they are potentially up for grabs.”
