Andrew Casey, a 42-year-old Moncton man was sentenced to 9 years in jail for an armed robbery he committed at a convenience store on Humphrey Street in Moncton in 2009.

After a two week jury trial in March 2010, Andrew Casey was found guilty of armed robbery and breach of probation in connection with the armed robbery at the Shopping Basket convenience store on Humphrey Street on August 2, 2009.

On August 2, 2009 the Codiac Regional RCMP arrested Casey without incident after a 9 hour stand off on West Lane in Moncton.

Casey was sentenced to 9 years in jail and ordered to submit DNA samples. He is also prohibited of owning or being in possession of firearms,ammunition and explosives for life.
