On May 12, 2010, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit launched an investigation which involved broad monitoring of the public domain of the internet.
As a result, investigators identified a suspect believed to be in possession of files containing child abuse imagery. The investigation led officers to a location in the area of Beverley Street at which time a search warrant was executed on June 3, 2010. Child Abuse Imagery was located and seized at that time.
A 46 year old male is facing the following charges: Possess Child Pornography and Access Child Pornography.
He has been released on a Promise to Appear.
