York police discovered human remain in the City of Vaughan

Investigators working out of the Homicide Unit, in conjunction with the Office of the Coroner, are investigating the discovery of human remains near Uplands Golf and Country Club in the City of Vaughan.

On Sunday, January 13, 2013, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a local citizen walking in the area of the Uplands grounds, located at 46 Uplands Avenue, discovered what appeared to be human remains. Police have been able to confirm that the remains located are human. Investigators will be at the scene today along with the Forensic Identification Unit continuing to process the scene. At this time there is no indication of age, sex or race of the remains. A cause of death has not been determined at this point. The discovery of the remains is being treated as suspicious pending further investigation.
