Police found a dead body on a residential street in Etobicoke Saturday morning, which is currently being examined by homicide detectives. Toronto police was called in around 7:30 a.m. to a resident street, Richgrove Dr., near Eglinton Ave. and Martin Grove Rd. Police claims to have discovered a dead female almost in her mid-20s upon their arrival.

The body was removed from the street by the Paramedics and now a coroner is examining it before submitting an official report. Insp. Tim Crone shared that “there are obvious signs of trauma to the victim,” while explaining that has already taken a “person of interest” in custody. The arrested personal is apparently related to the death, though there is no confirmation of any charges laid so far. Insp. Crone elucidated that the suspect was arrested from a gas station in Mississauga. He alleged that “we are still dealing with that individual and trying to piece together the circumstances that led us here today.” Additionally, the Police is also investigating two other locations suspected to have played a role in the history of the crime scene at Richgrove Dr.

A resident of the street for 12 years, Tham Vasudevan, stated that “usually this street is quiet.” He added “but there is a building at the end of the street where criminal activity is most likely happening. People have been talking about drug deals going on there.” Richgrove Dr. is expected to remain closed for the next several hours as homicide investigators and police collects evidence from the scene.
