Mounties’ emergency crews search for missing man Gregory Francis Yhard

Emergency crews are searching for a missing 36-year-old man in Beaver Bank.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., a male showed up at a residence in Beaver Bank asking for help. He stated he had crashed an off-road vehicle in the woods and that the person he was riding with, Gregory Francis Yhard, 36-years-old from Wellington, Nova Scotia, was still in the woods. The male who reported the crash has since been transported to hospital by EHS with non life threatening injuries. Halifax RCMP attended and searched the area. Halifax Regional Ground Search and Rescue are assisting with the search. The RCMP Helicopter is also on scene.

Yhard is described as a white male, 6’2″ and 236 pounds with balding brown hair.

Update: Halifax District RCMP have concluded a search for a man believed to be missing in Beaver Bank.

Earlier today, a male showed up at a residence in Beaver Bank asking for help. He stated he had crashed an off-road vehicle in the woods and that the person he was riding with was still in the woods.  RCMP joined by Halifax Regional Ground Search and Rescue began a search to locate the missing man.

Further investigation revealed that Mr. Yhard was not missing.  As a result, RCMP have arrested a 38-year-old man for Public Mischief. The investigation is continuing.
