On January 31, 2013, shortly after 2:15 a.m., Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Morton Avenue in Moncton.

The vehicle was travelling westbound near Crowley Farm Road when it drifted off of the road and collided with a utility pole.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man, died at the scene. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

The preliminary investigation indicates that speed was a contributing factor and that the driver was not wearing his seatbelt.
