Hamilton mother faces several counts in connection to child pornography

The Hamilton Police Service have arrested and charged a 46 year oldHamilton woman that is alleged to be involved in taking child pornography images of her children and sending them by email to an overseas penpal.                             

Members of the Hamilton Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit were alerted by the Metropolitan London Police (United Kingdom) via Interpol and our National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre, that on 22 January 2013, A 50 year old London man had been arrested for possession of indecent images of children.  Further investigation by British authorities identified that a Canadian woman living in Hamilton, Ontario had sent several images of her children to this man. 

Hamilton Police investigators continued the investigation and executed a search warrant in the east end of the city this morning.  The suspect was not at home at the time of the warrant but was arrested at her place of employment in Toronto shortly after.  Numerous computers and devices were seized from the residence for forensic examination.  The three children in the home were removed and the Catholic Children’s Aid Society was notified.

Hamilton Police are continuing their investigation with a detailed forensic examination of the computers and devices seized from the residence.

Bail Hearing is scheduled for February 7th.
