EPS homicide detectives have charged an Edmonton man in connection with the city’s latest homicide in the Clareview area of North Edmonton.

30-year-old Louis John Jerome has been charged with second degree murder and possession of a weapon.

An autopsy on the victim was conducted yesterday. The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Frank James Jerome of Edmonton. Jerome’s cause of death has been determined to be a stab wound to the chest.

Background:

Just before 1:15 a.m., Friday June 11, North Division patrol officers were called to an apartment complex in the Clareview area about a noisy party. About half an hour later, at 1:49 a.m., police were called back to the address at 136 Avenue and 36 Street about a report of an assault causing bodily harm.

A 51-year-old man was transported to hospital. He succumbed to his injuries just before 5:30 a.m. Friday, June 11th.
