Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a male at 7800 Tidwell about 3:45 p.m. on Friday (June 11).

The male suspect, 16, has been referred to Harris County juvenile probation authorities on a charge of murder.

The victim, Marvin Limon, 16, of Houston, suffered stab wounds to the chest and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Blain, Senior Police Officer J. Robles and Officers M. Brady and B. Oxspring reported:

A large group of teen-agers met under a bridge at Tidwell and Parkhurst to watch two individuals fight. Many people in the group then began to fight, resulting in Mr. Limon being stabbed in the chest.

Witnesses identified the juvenile suspect as the person responsible for stabbing Limon and told investigators the initial fight might have been over a girl. The suspect was questioned and subsequently confessed to the stabbing.
