Another violent incident in Toronto, near Lawrence Heights area, has lead to a 15-year-old boy being allegedly survived multiple gunshots wounds after he was shot on Wednesday night. Police and EMS were alerted to arrive at the crime scene, near Allen Rd. and Lawrence Ave. W., almost around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday evening, where it discovered the wounded boy with two gunshot wounds to his lower back.

Initial reports alleged that the victim’s injuries are life-threatening, however later police confirmed on Thursday morning that the boy is expected to survive. Detectives have take up the investigation as of an attempted homicide. Witnesses confirm that the victim was walking northbound at 41 Varna Dr., near Dorney Court, along with his brother and two more friends, when a vehicle occupied by multiple passengers reached them. Police reports that both parties had a brief conversation before almost seven to eight gunshots were fired at the teenager, while in an alleyway between two row houses. The investigators are allegedly searching a suspected white or silver recent model Toyota Camry that was seen fleeing south on Varna Dr, however it is said that a dark-coloured Mazda or Nissan might also be involved.

This incident took place a small distance from another recent shooting at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, where a 23-year-old Michael Nguyen was shot dead while another 24-year-old man suffered injuries in a gang-related, targeting shooting. However, Insp. Suzanne Walsh assuredly confirmed that both shootings do not seem likely to be connected.
