Houston police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide incident at 7600 Highmeadow Drive about 6 p.m. on Sunday (May 19).
The identities of the deceased female victim, 24, and male suspect, 31, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Services. Both suffered at least one gunshot wound.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Jewell and M. Dillingham reported:
Officers were dispatched to the above address for a check on welfare. They forced entry into the home and discovered a male and female deceased inside. The female had not been seen for several days, so her close friend called police to check the residence. The friend said the male and female had been in a relationship for several years, but were having recent problems.
The investigation is continuing as investigators await autopsy results.
