Gray Honda Accord driver dies in a fatal traffic accident at 8900 South Sam Houston Parkway

Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8900 South Sam Houston Parkway about 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday (May 28). 

The male victim, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Tapia and Officer J. Best reported: 

The victim was driving a gray Honda Accord westbound on the service road of the South Sam Houston Parkway when a witness said he ran a red light at the intersection of South Main.  The Honda was struck by a black Buick Verano traveling northbound on South Main.  The victim was killed on impact.  No one else was injured. 

Further investigation determined the victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
