Investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) and the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) Criminal Investigation Unit, have charged a crewmember of a cruise ship with child pornography.
On June 3, CBSA officers performed a routine search of a cruise ship docked at the Halifax cruise terminal and found explicit electronic files depicting child pornography on various electronic equipment belonging to a crewmember. The crewmember was arrested by CBSA officers, and subsequently, ICE investigators interviewed him and he was held in custody overnight.
Thirty-six-year-old Sean Richard Bell of Morden, Manitoba is facing charges of possession of child pornography and smuggling child pornography. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial court later today.
