Stoney Creek elderly pedestrian Jovan Andic dies of a fatal vehicle struck

On Saturday June 15th, 2013 at approximately 8:40 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a home on Hwy #8 in Stoney Creek to investigate a man struck by a vehicle. The 93-year-old Stoney Creek man was having a new roof installed on his residence when one of the contractors pick up trucks struck him. The driver was backing up in the driveway when it bumped into the victim, knocking him to the ground where he struck his head. Police, Fire and EMS attended and the male was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Update: On Monday, June 17th 2013 the victim Jovan Andic, succumbed to his injuries from the collision. This is now the City’s 6th traffic fatality and the 3rd one involving a pedestrian.

The collision remains under investigation at this time.
