Investigation into multiple murders has led to arrests and indictment of charges against five men associated with the FOB gang involving three gang-related homicides that killed six people. The arrests were made during the investigation of three killings conducted in 2008 and 2009, which was a time of conflict between FOB and the rival FOB Killers.
Police later announced that the investigation dubbed Operation Desino (Latin for “desist”) was initiated in January 2012. The first victim of the killings was Kevin Anaya, who was shot outside a home on Marcombe Drive N.E. on Aug. 9, 2008. Whereas, the second and third victim, Kevin Ses and Tina Kong, were shot while eating at the Food In East on Marlborough Drive N.E. on Oct. 26, 2008.
Police announced to have arrested 35-year-old Nicholas Cypui Chan and charged him with first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and instructing a criminal investigation. 32-year-old Timothy Matthew Chan, brother of Nicholas Chan, remains at large till now but has been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, and is being sought after in Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto. Another gang member, 26-year-old Nathan Lawrence Zuccherato, was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder though he is already serving a life sentence for three counts of first-degree for his role in a triple homicide at the Bolsa Restaurant on Jan. 1, 2009. Lastly, 30-year-old Dustin Duke Darby was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, while he still serves a federal prison sentence for cocaine trafficking.
