Hamilton daughter and partner charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life

On July 18th, 2013 the Division Two Seniors’ Support Officer and Uniform Patrol responded to an address in east Hamilton after a request was made by a community agency to check on the well-being of the seventy-seven year-old woman. The agency had made prior unsuccessful efforts to contact the senior who was under the care of her daughter and son in-law.

The officers attended the residence and found the victim living in unsanitary conditions and needing obvious medical attention. EMS responded to the residence and transported the victim for treatment. The investigation was turned over to the Crimes Against Seniors Unit.

On Friday, the 19th of July 2013, the Crimes Against Seniors Unit and Division Two officers executed a search warrant at the residence, arresting the forty-five year old daughter and her forty-two year old partner.  The 42-year old daughter was held for a bail hearing.
