Ira Kaufman charged with fraud in Toronto

On Sunday, July 25, at 5:04 p.m., police received a call for a break-and-enter at an apartment building in the Bathurst Street/St. Clair Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

– the accused entered nine apartments,

– during several of the entries, the residents were not home and the accused proceeded to remove some of their belongings,

– the accused also defrauded one resident out of a undisclosed amount of money.

On Monday, July 26, 2010, at 4:18 p.m., Ira Kaufman, 62, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

– six counts of break-and-enter commit,

– three counts of break-and-enter with intent,

– fraud under.

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, room 306, 10 a.m.
