Former Ottawa hockey coach Kelly Jones faces several counts in connection to a historical sexual assault investigation

In March of 2013, the Ottawa Police Service commenced an investigation into allegations of sexual assaults involving a hockey coach and a young boy who was 11 years old at the time.  The incidents occurred in Ottawa between 1987 and 1991.

On September 11, 2013 the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Section arrested and charged Kelly Jones, 57 years old, of Ottawa with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching and Sexual Exploitation of a young male. 

He will appear in court later today for a bail hearing.  Mr. Jones coached various teams at the Bantam level in the Ottawa area during these years.

The Ottawa Police investigation is ongoing.
