Whitby driver dies in a fatal double vehicle collision at Winchester Road in Oshawa

A 23-year old Whitby man was killed as a result of a two-vehicle collision on Harmony Road North just south of Winchester Road in Oshawa over the weekend.

On Saturday, September 21, 2013 at approximately 12:36 p.m., officers from Central West Division responded to a reported head-on collision between a pickup truck and a car involving life-threatening injuries. 

Witnesses at scene reported a Saturn vehicle was southbound on Harmony Road and lost control, crossing into the northbound lane, where it came into contact with a Dodge pickup truck. The male river of the Saturn vehicle, a 23-year-old Whitby resident, was pronounced on scene. The male driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and later released.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. Weather conditions were not favorable at the time of the collision.
