The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a child-luring investigation
It is alleged that:
– from on or about July 18, 2013, until September 4, 2013, the accused made contact with a 10-year-old girl through YouTube
– the accused engaged in sexual chat with the girl and sent her a sexual video of himself
– the accused used various social media chat and websites, including YouTube, Gmail, and Facebook, to communicate with a number of victims
– the accused used the email address “chrdeacon@gmail.com“>chrdeacon@gmail.com” and the user names “Chris Deacon,” “Christopher Deacon,” and “Christopher D. Deacon”
– search warrants were executed at his place of work and at his residence and a quantity of computer equipment was seized
On Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 3:30 p.m., Joshua Hardaker, 42, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1. Luring a Child Under 18
2. Make Child Pornography
3. Making Available Sexually Explicit Material to a Child
He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 10 a.m., room 501.
Police believe there may be more victims.
