On Wednesday, August 4, 2010, a woman reported her purse stolen from an address on Duncan Street.
It is alleged that:
– the victim’s purse was located in a parking lot nearby, with its contents removed,
– the victim received a phone call from a man, advising that her wallet had been found and that he was willing to return it "for some money."
On Saturday, August 7, 2010, the suspect was arrested, and the wallet was returned to the victim.
Dhaqane Yusuf, 38, of Toronto, is charged with:
1. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime,
2. Attempt Corruptly Taking a Reward for Recovery of Goods.
He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at 9 a.m., room 101.
