Suspect Christfer Markeas Brown charged with capital murder in a fatal shooting incident at 9500 Country Creek

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9500 Country Creek Drive about 3:40 a.m. on September 19.  

The suspect, Christfer Markeas Brown (b/m, DOB: 11-14-90), is charged with capital murder in the 178th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Ikechukwu Uzodinma Godson, 45, of Houston.  Mr. Godson was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital and died from his wounds on Sept. 27.    

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Dillingham and Officer L. Bailey reported:  

Mr. Godson was sitting in a blue or silver taxi cab parked on the side of the street next to a night club at the above location when he was shot at least twice.  According to witnesses, Godson was getting out of the back seat of the cab when a person in the driver’s seat of the cab shot him and then fled the scene in the cab.  Godson was then taken to the hospital where he later died.  

An initial investigation determined Godson was the owner of the cab, which has not been recovered.  

Further investigation identified Brown as the suspect in this case and on Wednesday (Nov. 6), he was taken into custody without incident.  Brown admitted to his role in Godson’s death.
