1997 Dodge Avenger passenger succumbs to injuries in a fatal double vehicle collision at Spruce Meadows Trail S.W.

A man injured in a collision last week has succumbed to his injuries.

On Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a 2003 Ford Cutaway van, driven by a 54-year-old man was eastbound in the left hand lane of Spruce Meadows Trail S.W., when a 1997 Dodge Avenger, operated by a 19-year-old man with a 19-year-old male passenger, ran two stop signs and crossed the path of the cube van.

The driver of the van sustained minor injuries, while both the driver and passenger of the Dodge car were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at approximately 11:50 p.m., the passenger of the car was pronounced deceased. The driver remains in life-threatening condition in hospital.

Police do not believe alcohol played a factor.
