48-year-old man from Listuguj dies in fatal collision, Allardville, N.B.

On August 22, 2010 shortly before 7:30 pm, District 9 RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 8 near Allardville, NB.

Witnesses told police a vehicle heading southbound crossed the centre line and collided head on with a northbound vehicle.

The driver of the northound vehicle, a 48-year-old man from Listuguj, Québec died on scene. A 51-year-old woman also from Listuguj who was a passenger in that vehicle was transported to hospital where she remains in critical condition. The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 20-year-old man from South Nelson received non-life threatening injuries.

An RCMP re-constructionist attended the scene to investigate the collision. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
