Michael Arthur Gaudet from Charlottetown, P.E.I. appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on November 18, 2013. He has been charged with forcible confinement, assault, robbery, wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an offence, uttering threats, and break and enter into a home.
The charges are in connection with a home invasion in Petitcodiac during the morning of May 28, 2004. Two men wearing masks entered a home demanding money. The woman who lived at the house was assaulted and tied up. The woman’s son, when he arrived at the house, was also assaulted before the two men ran off.
A positive DNA match was identified at the National DNA Data Bank allowing RCMP to confirm the identity of one of the two men involved in the home invasion.
Gaudet has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for December 5.
RCMP continue to look for two other men who were involved.
