Murderer Jeffery DaleTrevino was sentenced to 27 and a half years of imprisonment for the murder of his wife, Kira Steger. Trevino stood in the court wearing the orange uniform for prisoners and listening calmly to the verdict announced by the judge.

Jeffery Trevino killed his wife and then placed it in the trunk of her car. He later took it to the Mississippi River and dumped her body in the flowing water. Steger went missing on the evening of 21st of February. The Ramsey County Jury accused Trevino of second degree unintentional murder. He was freed from the charge of an intentional murder. ‘Jeffery Trevino, it is my belief on some level that you probably did not set out to kill Ms. Steger,’ said Leonardo Castro, Judge of Ramsey County District. Steger’s family and friends kept searching for her until she was found on 8th of May near downtown St. Paul.

Steger’s parents and two sisters were filled with distress when they saw the body of their sister which had one broken finger and long cut under her left eye. They insisted that Trevino, 39, should get an imprisonment of at least 30 years.
