Nurse Killed by Stabbing At Texas Hospital

Gail Sandidge, a nurse at the East Texas medical complex was stabbed and killed this Tuesday. Apart from her, four other people were injured during the stabbing attack. A 22 year old suspect called Kyron Templeton is arrested on the charge of the murder and the stabbing attack. The incident took place at around 7 a.m. at the Ambulatory Surgical Center of Good Shepherd Medical Center located in Longview.

‘She was just saying…’I’m hurt. He got me,’ said one of the witnesses, Jana Jackson. ‘And that’s when we realized there was blood all on the front of her scrubs.’Later that day, the hospital authorities pronounced Sandidge dead. The hospital authorities stated that the dedicated nurse died trying to save her patients. ‘Nurses are protectors by nature. And Gail, she fit that profile,’ said the president of Good Shepherd Health Sysytems. Steve Altmiller. ‘She was protecting her patients in an act of courage today, and in so doing, she lost her life.’

Templeton was arrested on the street outside the hospital and was charged with one count of first-degree murder plus four counts of aggravated assault using the knife as a deadly weapon. Authorities have not found any motive behind the murder or the stabbing attack yet. The bond set for Templeton is at 2.6 million dollars and the jail records haven’t listed an attorney for him yet.  The surveillance video is being analyzed by the hospital security and will hand over to the police soon.
