West District RCMP in Clair have arrested a 27-year-old man following a shooting in the Lac Baker area near Edmundston, N.B.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on November 28, 2013, RCMP received a call that a man had been shot. The incident occurred along a back road in the Lac Baker area. A 37-year-old man from Clair was taken to hospital in Edmundston with a gunshot wound. He remains in hospital.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on November 29, RCMP arrested a 27-year-old man from Clair in connection with the incident.

The victim and the man arrested by police are known to each other.

The investigation is continuing.
