Calgary man Joch Pouk charged with second degree murder

The Calgary Police Service has arrested and charged a third person in relation to the recent death of an 18-year-old man.

At approximately 2:45 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, emergency crews were called to the 200 block of 10 Avenue S.W., for reports of a man needing medical assistance.

When crews arrived, they found the man suffering from critical, life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died at around 10 a.m.

It is believed the victim was involved in two altercations prior to his death. Following the first incident, the victim and his associates were separated from the situation, but a short time later the groups re-engaged outside a downtown bar.

Two suspects have already been arrested and charged.

Nathan Paul Gervais, 18, from Calgary, has been charged with first-degree murder. Franz Emir Cabrera, 19, from Calgary, has been charged with second-degree murder.

A third suspect was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013.

Joch Pouk, 20, from Calgary, has been charged with second-degree murder.

An autopsy conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, confirmed that Lukas Strasser-Hird died as a result of stab wounds.

The investigation continues and further charges are anticipated.
