Winnipeg woman Leanne May Henderson charged with second degree murder

On January 3, 2014 at 4:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a suite located in the 200 block of Fernwood Avenue regarding a sudden death incident.

A male occupant identified as Keith George McFee, 69 years-old was located deceased within the suite. As a result of the investigation, upper body injuries were observed. 

Members of the Homicide Unit continued the investigation with the assistance of Patrol members, Forensic Identification and Street Crime Unit members.

Between December 26 and 27, 2013, McFee and a 31 year-old female were together in his suite located on Fernwood Avenue consuming alcohol. The two became involved in an argument which escalated to the point where the female produced a weapon and fatally assaulted McFee.

The female fled the residence in the victim’s vehicle and later abandoned it in the area of Logan Avenue and Laura Street.

On January 6, 2014, Leanne May Henderson, 31 years-old of Winnipeg was located and arrested while in the area of the 500 block of William Avenue.

Henderson has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Theft over $5000.00 due to her alleged involvement.

She was detained as the Provincial Remand Centre.
