Calgary driver Ramil Pesa dies in a fatal vehicle collision at 9600 block of Metis Tr. N.E.

A man critically injured in a collision on New Year’s Day has died as a result of his injuries.

At approximately 6 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan.1, 2014, a Dodge Ramwas travelling southbound in the 9600 block of Metis Tr. N.E., when it crossed the centre line, side swiping a 2013 Mazda A3I with two occupants. The Dodge Ram then continued southbound colliding with a 2011 BMW 328XI with two occupants. The Dodge Ram was then struck by a 2011 Buick Enclavetraveling northbound on Metis Trail, with four passengers. 

The driver of the BMW, Ramil Psae, also known as Francis Pesa, 20, of Calgary, succumbed to his injuries on Monday, Jan. 6, 2013.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, Kulwinder Singh Chohan, 36, of Calgary, is currently charged with impaired driving, impaired driving over 0.08 and impaired driving causing injury. These charges are likely to be upgraded to impaired driving causing death.
