300After being kicked from the Senate by his own party, getting fired from East Coast gossip rag Frank Magazine after only a single column is the latest embarrassment for Senator Patrick Brazeau. In a public apology offered by the magazine’s editor, Andrew Douglas, he announced to have terminated Brazeau’s freelance gig and said he was sorry to have exposed Frank readers to the senator’s “narcissistic ramblings” and underwhelming talent for the written word.

In a column titled, “Please Forgive Me,” Mr. Douglas mentioned that “there wasn’t anything new. A lot of it read like that hail Mary speech he gave last fall before the Senate gave him the boot.” He explained that “we’ve only got one shot at this, I told him. Everyone’s paying attention. A rant devoid of new information, insight or perspective is useless, I advised.” Speaking symbolically, he added that “Operation Give a Dog a Bone has been terminated.”

In addition to that, Douglas alleged that Brazeau was an unreliable writer who would disappear for a day or two, “not answering emails or telephone calls.” Mr. Brazeau has not yet publicly commented on his latest job loss. Soon after being booted from the senator among his fellow Conservative-appointed colleagues, Senators Mike Duffy and Pamela Wallin, in November, he announced on Twitter that he was looking for a job. In response, Douglus replied that “Listen, here’s the deal: Frank Magazine exists, to paraphrase a famous quote, to comfort the afflicted, and be a pain [in] the arse to the comfortable.”
