Houston man Geraldo Carlyle dies in a fatal shooting incident at 3352 Old Spanish Trail

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3352 Old Spanish Trail about 1:55 a.m. last Saturday (Jan. 18).

The victim, Geraldo Carlyle, 49, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Garcia, Senior Police Officer B. Evans and Officer K. McDonald reported:

Several patrons were outside The Turning Point nightclub at the above address when two unknown males fired shots at them and then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.  Mr. Carlyle was fatally struck and a second person suffered a minor injury and was released from an area hospital.  At this time, it is not believed Carlyle was the intended target.  The motive in the shooting has not been determined.

The suspects are described only as two black males.
