Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has openly confessed to have had experienced a “minor setback” while referencing to him being recently caught on camera drinking again. Whereas this time, the video did not show a drunk mayor, but the mayor was also controversially rambling, expletive-laced rant about the city’s police chief. However, he has persistently mentioned that this episode is a private matter.

The mayor’s brother Councillor, Doug Ford, was apparently caught off-guard earlier this week, when he perhaps was not aware that his brother was drinking again, as he informed reporters that the video couldn’t have been shot recently. However, facing the same reporters on Thursday, Doug confessed that “I wasn’t betrayed, per se,” as he added that “I truly believed it was an old video, and I stated that. Obviously, I was wrong.” Regardless of yet another shameful episode, Doug mentioned that his brother is doing well overall.

Councilor Ford mentioned that “he’s focused, and he did have a minor setback. As we say – go off the wagon – but Rob’s resilient, and he hopped back on.” He repeated his remarks over the Toronto Police’s investigation against his brother, and alleged that Chief Blair is simply “playing politics.” He highlighted that Chief Blair’s term is coming to an end, and said that Toronto should have a “strong mayor system,” who has “the authority – the opportunity, if he needs to – to change every department, if he needs to do that, so be it.”
