The Chatham-Kent police continue to investigate the report of a missing Chatham man.
David Gordon Round, 29 years, was last seen on Saturday, January 18, 2014 around 11:30 p.m. riding a green men’s mountain bike in the area of Baldoon Road in Chatham.
He is described as 5’6”, 210lbs, with blue eyes and light brown thinning hair. He was last seen wearing a large grey winter coat with a grey hoody under his coat, black toque, black/grey finger gloves and black winter boots.
Update: The efforts to locate missing person, 29 year old David Gordon Round of Chatham continue.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service has interviewed numerous people and continues to interview more people with the hopes of gaining any information that may assist with this investigation.
Yesterday, a ground search commenced in the area that Round was last seen. That search will continue today.
Update 2: Yesterday, a ground search was completed in and around the area that Round was last seen. That search produced negative results. Police will continue to interview people in an attempt to obtain more information that may assist in this investigation.
Update 3: The Chatham-Kent police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the body found this morning near the Courthouse in Chatham.
Just before 8:30 a.m. police discovered the body of a deceased man. A Coroner, detectives and forensic investigators attended the scene. The body was removed and taken to University Hospital in London for a post-mortem examination. At this time, foul play is not suspected.
Police have confirmed that the found body is that of missing person David Gordon Round, 29 years of Chatham. The family requests that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
Update 4: On February 4, 2014 around 8:30 a.m., the body of missing person David Gordon Round, 29 years of Chatham was found near the Courthouse.
Yesterday, a post-mortem examination was conducted at University Hospital in London and the circumstances surrounding his death are not considered to be suspicious.
The family continues to request that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
