Durham police search for missing man Raymond Mitchell from Ontario Shores in Whitby

The Durham Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to locate a missing male who was on an approved pass from Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences when he ran off. He was last seen yesterday at 8:15 p.m. in the Maple Street and Brock Street North area of Whitby.

Raymond Mitchell is described as: male, white, 23 years old with short dark hair and a moderate build. He was last seen wearing a baggy dark blue winter coat, green hoodie and a red t-shirt with baggy jeans. 

Mitchell is known to have been physically assaultive when confronted in the past. The public is asked not to approach him but to call police if he is spotted.

Update: The 23-year-old male missing from Ontario Shores has been found, safe and sound, in Peterborough. 

He has been returned to the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby.
