Toronto man Ashraf Ali Rao charged with two counts related to sexual assault

The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section has charged a Toronto man following a complaint of sexual assault at a local hotel. 

On February 27, 2014 at approximately 4:20 am, Ottawa Police responded to a complaint of sexual assault that occurred at a hotel in the 200 block of Rideau Street. The man and young person had travelled together to Ottawa to attend a function. During their stay at the hotel the man inappropriately touched the 14 year old female victim. 

Ashraf Ali Rao, 47 years old, of Toronto is charged with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and Forcible Confinement. He will appear in court today. 

There are concerns that there could be further victims.
