Halifax man Cory Anthony McKay charged in relation to a sexual assault investigation

Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have charged a man following a robbery and sexual assault that occurred in January in Halifax.

On January 30 at 9:45 p.m. a 20-year-old woman was walking on Edward Street when she was approached by a man who grabbed her and demanded her wallet. The man forcibly held on to her while making sexual comments and touching her inappropriately. The victim fought the suspect and he eventually left on foot empty handed. The victim returned home and called police.

On February 28, investigators arrested 32-year-old Cory Anthony McKay ofHalifax in relation to this incident. He faces charges of robbery, sexual assault,overcoming resistance to commission of offence (choking) and six breaches of court orders. He was remanded into custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
